Add LAN through mesh?

Am I able to add a second Nest Router (as part of the mesh network) and use it's LAN port to connect things like a Raspberry Pi?

I'm in an old house that either pre-dated LAN or the builder didn't care to run LAN. As a result, I have no wired cable throughout the house and am (successfully) running a mesh network. It's fine, but would be good to have some ports throughout the house.

Bonus Q: I have the OG "Google Wifi" collecting duet - are they compatible with the Nest Wifi?

Hello @adamobrien ,

Yes – a Nest WiFi Router can be set up as a point and the Ethernet ports should work to connect nearby wired devices. An inexpensive (unmanaged) Ethernet switch can be used to make more ports available as well.

Also, in answer to your bonus question, yes – your old Google WiFi unit can be added to your Nest WiFi system as a point and support Ethernet devices similarly. You'll need to perform a factory reset of that unit before trying to add it. Note that you will likely need to follow the reset button method, and if your Google WiFi unit is old enough, the second set of instructions in there may apply.

I have factory reset, but when trying to connect the google wifi unit to the nest mesh network (through the google home app) it tells me the connection has failed.

any idea why?
