Nest Wifi router, 2-pack does not connect to office ethernet

The brand new Nest WiFi Router does not connect to the ethernet infrastructure, which is in perfect working order, as my older WiFi router still works with it, as I had to switch back.

The Nest Wifi Router and the two additional connection points have connected nicely to each other, router connected nicely to the modem too. Router also connected easily to the WiFi devices in my office.

Any advise, or should I ask for a return? There are so many posts about this issue and no single clear cut solution that I could find.

How have you connected it all up? Nest Wifi is a router (NAT, firewall), so if your ethernet devices is connected before Nest Wifi in the chain, devices on Nest Wifi can't talk to the ethernet devices.

It should be modem (bridged, to avoid double NAT), then Nest Wifi main puck, then connect all wired devices to Nest Wifi. If one LAN port isn't enough, add an unmanaged switch to the main Nest Wifi puck.

This is how I did this:

It did not work

There are so many posts here, showing similar issues that I decided to return the product. It's simply too much money for a poorly developed product. I'm not the one to do product testing for Google :-/

Alright. You're not giving the people trying to help you much with "it did not work". But this exact setup works for me, has done for probably 3 years now.

About the amount of issues posted on this forum, especially the longstanding, repeating ones that gets no fixes: I agree, not acceptable. But then again, people only post here when they got issues. And a lot of the similar priced alternatives to Nest Wifi aren't much better.

Hope you'll be happy with whatever new system you got. 👍

Hi folks, thank you all for your help. I tried a few other things and for an unknown reason at this stage, I could not make the router talk to the LAN. It might even be that I was unlucky and got a defective product.

I returned the router, went back to my old wifi router for now, life is too busy, so I'm trading reliability over speed for now.
