My current home setup is that I have two dedicated internet connections from the same internet provider. One internet is for my personal use on the main floor covering bedrooms upstairs also and another internet (high speed) exclusively for my business use in my basement.

With the personal internet I have connected Nest Wifi Router with 3 points and has been working seamlessly since about a year now.

Just recently I purchased a Nest Wifi Router only for my basement internet and as I'm adding it through the Google Home App as a Router and not as a Wifi Point, QR code scanning has been successful but I'm stuck at the screen reading " Could not add device: It could be that you have 2 devices wired to the same modem. Make sure that all your devices are configured correctly" and followed by a tab "Try Again". I did multiple times but the same message

I can assure you that the upstairs router is connected to my personal internet router and this new router connected to my business internet router.

What 'am I doing wrong? thanks for your help

I had a similar question. If I have two internet connections coming in in two different rooms then how can I configure the Google Wifi System to take advantage of both uplinks to the internet and have one seamless wifi network for the whole house?

It sounds like you may be trying to add this new system to the existing "home" you have in the Google Home app. Each "home" can only have a single Google/Nest WiFi system. But, you can create another "home" just for the new network and add it to that one instead. Then you can switch between them in the Google Home app to manage each network independently.

I know this sounds like a similar question, but it's actually quite different. A single Google/Nest WiFi system can't support multiple internet connections. There are some routers that can, and they may support both fail-over and load-balancing across multiple internet connections. Theoretically, you may be able to install and configure something like that in between your Google/Nest WiFi system and your internet connections, but I'm afraid I can't help much with the details of selecting and configuring a product like that.

Conclusion: I had a gut feeling about this so I tried adding this second router to a new "Test Home" linked to my basement wifi (which as explained is a totally different network) and it worked. And this is in line with what MichaelP advised. thanks Michael! Much appreciated.

On the same note, could I add this router to work as a "POINT" rather than a router to my existing Main Floor network?

Yes, you can add a Nest WiFi Router unit as a "point" to an existing Google/Nest WiFi system. If it's already been set up as a primary (or point) in another system, it will need to be factory reset first.
