Considering adding Google Nest Wifi, 2nd gen- can I monitor this when I am not at home?

I want to be able to monitor, test and control my wifi even when I am not home. My current system as an app for this. It was suggested I add the Google Wifi 2nd gen to improve coverage and reception in my home. Before I spend the money, I want to make sure I can test the wifi coverage when I am not home.

Yes, you can check status and run tests even when not connected to Nest Wifi by Wi-Fi.

Be advised that there is an ongoing issue with Google Home and the Google Wi-Fi Mesh system.
Many users have had the Wi-Fi icon "disappear" on the home screen of the Google Home app. When this happens there is no way to recover the Wi-Fi icon to gain control of the mesh again UNLESS the entire system is reset to factory defaults and all devices connected to the Google mesh are relearned. If you still have your Wi-Fi icon on your Google Home app then you should consider yourself fortunate and hope that it stays.

mterry, you can monitor your device’s status through a mesh test, check what devices are connected, and update your network settings through the Google Home app even when you're not connected to your Google Nest Wifi network. However, the speed test will not give you your actual network speed if you're not connected to your network. Let us know if you have additional questions ― we’d love to help.
