Google Wifi not connecting to only one device

Hi - I daisy chained two Google wifi routers. One in the living room connects to the modem and the 2nd in the basement on the other end of the home below my office and 50 ft apart.

I have connected the Netgear modem (this is a router/modem combo) to the primary Google Wifi router (Let's call it Wifi 1), then from Wifi 1 to Wifi 2 in the basement using an ethernet cable; Wifi 2 is right beneath my office. I have a 3rd Google Wifi 3 on the 2nd floor.

When I connect my laptop in the office - the wifi connects for a little bit then disconnects - this happens every 2 min - making it pretty useless. What baffles me is why does that happen to the laptop only in the office room; i walk out to the living room and it's all good.

My laptop connects to the internet wifi everywhere in the house except my office. Every time I try working from the office - my laptop gives an error that "Wi-fi" does not have valid configuration; however the moment I walk back to my living room it connects to the same wifi without any issues.

Google Homeapp after doing a Mesh test says Great connection to both Wifi2 and 3.

Not sure why this is happening? Any ideas?

What laptop model, and what NIC/ Wi-Fi card?

Have you tried to:

Update the drivers for the network card in question?
Forget the saved network in Windows then reconnect?
Disable MAC randomization in Windows?

This is a HP Elitebook.

Wifi card Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz

Cannot update drivers.. no admin privilees.

I have tried forgetting network and reconnecting - did not help - worked for 15 min and then fails.

Need to check on how to Disable MAC randomization..

@ashdag, thanks for reaching out ― let's see what's going on.

A quick question: are there other devices that experience this issue when you're in your office?

The recommended distance for each point is 25 feet.

Give these steps a whirl:

Make sure that there are minimal to no interference (concrete, bulletproof glass, metal, mirror, etc.)
Remove any special characters in your network name and password.

Turn off your device's Bluetooth.

Unplug the power from your Google Wifi devices for 2 minutes.

Set static IP address for your device.

Make sure your device is up to date.

If issue persists, change password of the Google Wifi network.

I have tried the these steps - its still very patchy - works for 10-15 min and then drops.
