Google nest point

Just got a Google nest system with 2 points. I put one in my detached garage since I have a ring camera in the alley. But garage can get very warm or cold. Wondering the temp extremes for the point. Couldn’t find in the specs.

You may not be able to use the device while it regulates its temperature. Move the device to a cooler (or warmer) location and wait a few minutes before attempting to use it again.

It's hard to tell. By way of comparison, we have a 1st gen Google Nest Indoor Camera (specs 0°C [32°F] to 40°C [104°F]) in our detached garage, and it runs in Minnesota winters (down to -20°F) and summers (up to 100°F); the garage temperatures are certainly hotter than outside in the summer and in winter the garage is not as cold as outside. But this experience might not apply to running a Wi-Fi point in a detached garage.

Thanks. Definitely hotter than 95 Fahrenheit today in the garage. And winter will bring colder than 0 Fahrenheit. So I better move it. Thanks.

So next question—how do I move a point? Can I just unplug and replug to prompt the app to reset?

Hey Cwhitehenry,

For moving a point, you can simply unplug it and take it to where you want to use it. It will just take a moment to boot back up and come online, but you won't need to do anything else. Let me know if you have any other questions.
