I had originally set this up, with no problem. Then I found that my port forwarding rule to this computer wasn't actually working, so I removed the port forwarding rule. I was then unable to re-add the rule as it didn't show the computer in the list. I then found that the app is showing the computer as offline. I've restarted the computer. I've done an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew. I then removed the static ip rule for this machine and re-added it and restarted and renewed again and still not showing as connected. Will try rebooting the nest router when possible to do so without interrupting significant other's ability to work.

Disable MAC randomization inside Windows:

And use Nest Wifi DHCP reservation for static IP:

Then port forward. If a power cycle does not work, a factory reset likely will.

It is the wireless repeater my lan cable is plugged into, which acts as a proxy, causing the problem.
