Google Wifi (1st Gen) Compatible Smart Plugs

I've been trying to find compatible smart plugs to go with my Google Wifi (1st Gen) and am struggling to find something suitable.

Does it need to be dual band? All seem to be 2.4Ghz only and from past experience I couldn't get it to connect.

I'm maybe not sure what I am looking for when choosing one. Does anyone have any advice/recommendations?

I use the TP link Kasa plugs and love them, have had some for years and just bought more. They are affordable, reliable, the schedule feature works without wifi connection as well so even if internet goes down they still operate .

Just to add briefly to @Ashepherdson 's message, I also use Kasa smart plugs from TP Link without difficulty. They are 2.4GHz only, but that isn't a problem, since they are well-designed and can be set up on a dual-band system (like Google WiFi). It is true that some 2.4GHz-only devices have trouble with dual-band systems, but those devices are the real problem – not the dual-band WiFi network.
