I upgraded today from the original Google Wifi mesh to the Nest Wifi Pro and I don't believe there is an actual speed issue, just a speed test issue.

I did several speed tests via the Google Home app on my Pixel 6 Pro and also on my Chromebook before switching out the devices and everything was normal. After swapping out everything and getting it set up, I performed the same tests on both devices and was getting higher speeds so I was pleased to say the least. An hour or two later I started seeing similar results with some showing less than 1 Mbps download and upload staying normal (didn't make sense) BUT something wasn't adding up...

At the time, there were 37 devices connected and over half are cameras with full HD or better streaming constantly. There were also two TVs streaming HD via streaming services and my Chromebook streaming a third...but nothing was buffering or quality being affected so I decided to do a side-by-side-by-side speed test. I had the Google Home app open on the Chromebook and Speedtest.net via Chrome and the Home app open on my phone. I ran all three tests as close to simultaneously as possible and the real issue showed - the Home apps were showing download speeds of 0-24 Mbps but Speedtest.net was showing the 400-450 Mbps I normally see. This was repeated several times over an hour with the same results. Eventually the Home app started showing almost identical results as Speedtest.net but started the fluctuation again even though there was no change in Speedtest.net.

I honestly think the issue is just a bug in the speed test on the Home app running with the Nest Wifi Pro and not anything to do with the Nest Wifi Pro itself. There is absolutely no way that I could pull the bandwidth I do and not even see a glitch in HD+ performance if the numbers I was seeing were true. I had the GF do the same tests using her Pixel 5 with the Home app and Speedtest.net through the Chrome app and she was able to reproduce my results.

I'd suggest to try doing the same tests I did, especially if you are not seeing any bandwidth issues even though the speed test in the Home app is showing low speeds. A bug with the speed test in the app doesn't affect the Nest Wifi Pro's performance, it just looks like it which isn't a reason to return the device(s).

Hope this gives some pause to the panic and discontent I've been reading.

Nest WiFi Pro wired connection is about 10% of what it was on Nest WiFi

So, my WiFi Pro arrived today and I was really excited to get it setup. I set everything up using the Google Home app and downloaded the updates. I have a fiber gigabit connection from my provider and their most recent modem. My wired connections are pegged to about 90Mbps. My Nest WiFi (non Pro) was getting 900+Mbps wired.

My troubleshooting has been the following:

Restart the Nest WiFi Pro network

Restart the modem

Restart all switches

Reboot the hard wired computers

My Nest WiFi Pro is in DHCP WAN mode and connected directly to the 10Gbps ethernet port on my modem. I am using a mix of CAT 5 and CAT 6 cabling and my switches are all gigabit or higher.

Plugging the old Nest WiFi (non Pro) back in yields 900+Mbps on wired connections.

I think something is wrong

Same issue here, I have BT Gfast Service with a connection of 330Mbps (Max) that comes into the house into an Huawei MT922 Modem, this connects to the Nest Wifi Pro over Ethernet with PPPOE.

Connected via Wired and Wireless with multiple devices and the top speed I can get is 50Mbps... I have a Netgear Orbi, connect that back up in the same configuration and full speed of 300Mbps on all devices.

Spoke to Google Support, they advised that is due to double routing and that the MT922 device is also acting as a router and causing the double routing and slow speeds... This is incorrect, the MT922 is purely a modem.

Not sure what the problem is, but mostly likely sending the device back as Google offered no help.
