Hi, have no option to enable extended 5.9 GHz, 160 MHz operation within Google Home app here in the UK.

Any advice?

I thought I was going crazy, it works before you connect the router to the Google Home app, but disappears as soon as you do, making this device useless in its current state

Hey folks,

Some older 5GHz-capable devices aren’t compatible with the 160 MHz channel mode that uses the 5.9 GHz band. These devices might experience lower performance or slower speeds, or be completely unable to connect to 5 GHz. If you have trouble with the connection of a device, check if you have the 160 MHz channel setting enabled. To disable the 160 MHz feature:

Open the Google Home app.
Tap the Wi-Fi coin then Settings.
Scroll down, then tap Advanced networking > Advanced settings.
Disable Use 160 MHz channel for maximum performance on 5 GHz.

Well you obviously missed the point that the option to turn it on is not there in the first place to try, before turning it off if it causes problems?

Yep, no 160MHz toggle for me also (UK), I'm seeing 10% of my internet speeds and now cant enable 160Mhz. I think I'm just going to send the wifi back.

160Mhz channels are available in the UK right? No government bans on it? Seems like Google have just overlooked this. Such a mess

My Asus wifi6 router allowed 160Mhz, no issues with bans etc. As you said, it's just a mess from Google. I can see a lot of RMA's incoming.

Yeah it's a real shame. I'm looking at options from Asus, linksys and Tp-link now instead.

If I don't see no movement on this within the next week, I'm going to have to RMA. Start looking at Asus access points to accompany the router I already have. Will have to stay on WiFi6 but hey, at least it will work.

Gave up on the pile of crap and poor customer service and have returned to you to put in the landfill with all the rest that are getting returned with the promise of never to buy any Nest / Google hardware ever again.
