I don't have personal experience with any such products, but Ubiquiti UniFi and TP-Link should be good. Look for price, specs (fast enough for your needs) and customer reviews I guess?

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/08/point-to-point-wi-fi-bridging-between-buildings-the-cheap-and-easy-way/

This would then require both points in the other building to be wired by ethernet, as mesh / 802.11s does not travel over ethernet. So:

Modem -> Unmanaged switch -> Wired devices in primary building, like printers, workstations, or the building to building wireless bridge -> unmanaged switch -> The two units you wanted in this building.

Hi,

Hoping for some help please.

I need to get an Internet connection to an office building in my rear garden, approx 30m from the house.

There will be an external grade network cable installed along with the mains power out the side of the house. My question is, can I make use of a Google Wi-Fi system to pick up the wirless network from the house, and make use of plugging in the external grade ethernet cable to then transfer that down to the office building, linking to another Wi-Fi point to provide wireless connectivity down there?

If my assumption is correct and that this is possible, I'll need a Wi-Fi router, which will take the main wired connection from my Virgin Media router. In addition to this, a Wi-Fi point where the external ethernet cable comes inside, which will transfer the Wi-Fi signal down to the office, where a second Wi-Fi point will receive that and provide a strong and stable Wi-Fi connection down in to the office building.

Is this possible please and any recommendations over which system would be most beneficial to achieve this? We're a 4 person household with 250Mbps WiFi speeds, typically using the Internet at the same time, if that helps.

Thanks in advance!

Mesh (802.11s) does not travel over ethernet. And Nest Wifi is not ment for directional Wi-Fi, and will work poorly in a building to building scenario.

So the best would be to wire all Nest Wifi units by ethernet cable.

Modem in bridge mode -> Main Nest Wifi unit -> Unmanaged switch -> Other wired devices, like the other Nest Wifi units.

Here are some diagrams on this, what's called wired backhaul:

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Wifi/Ethernet-backhaul/m-p/284073/highlight/true#M31892

Nest Wifi add-on point does not have ethernet ports, so don't get that one. Either all Nest Wifi router, or all Nest Wifi Pro would be my recommendation. The older Google Wifi will also work, but is slower.

Thank You olarvb, would you be able to recommend a building-building, sender and receiver? As running Ethernet cable to a unmanaged switch & each google Wi-Fi point would be very impractical in my home
