Google Wifi limiting the speed to half of what the modem provides

I'm having the following problem: if I directly connect the cable to a notebook I get 100% of my speed from the internet provider, if I connect the cable to GOOGLE WI-FI and connect a cable from there and then to the notebook (always via cable end-to-end) the speed drops to less than 50% of what the modem provides. In this way, the direct cable from the modem provides me with 600Mbps and the cable coming out of Google Wi-fi something around 300Mbps. What can I do to at least get a speed close to what the modem is providing for Google Wi-fi?

I have a similar issue, but even more of a speed reduction. 1G connection slashed down to 260mb.

I've been having this exact same issue since I bought the Wifi Pro system. The only solution I've seen offered is to factory reset the network or to try swapping the points and setting up a new network, neither of which worked for me and caused a huge headache in having to manually set up all of my smart lights and accessories again. I've never got over 500Mbps down on 1200Mbps service when I routinely got 950Mbps down on my previous Nest Mesh system that became too unstable to keep using. It's incredibly frustrating.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for posting — let's see what's going on.

A few questions: are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? How many devices are getting slow speed or dropping from the network? Also, do you have any paused devices?

Give these steps a try:

If you're using a modem/router combo, set that to bridge mode to avoid double NAT issues.
Make sure that there is minimal to no interference (concrete, bulletproof glass, metal, mirror, etc.) and the points are no more than two rooms apart.
Remove any special characters in your network name and password.
Turn off IPv6.
Change your DNS server into 8.8.8.8 on the primary and 8.8.4.4 on the secondary server. Hit the save/ floppy disk icon on the upper right.
Unplug the power from your Google Wifi devices for 2 minutes.
If the issue persists, try factory resetting your network.
You can skip any step if you’ve done it already.

@ClaudioMgni, we currently don't have updates regarding a new firmware release. Your Google Wifi router and points will automatically receive over-the-air updates about any software and hardware-related fix or firmware updates as long as it's constantly powered on and connected to the Wi-Fi network. I suggest trying out the steps I mentioned first and we can go from there.
