Google Home App won't save Custom DNS Settings... Reverts immediately to automatic

I am trying to set custom DNS settings on Google Nest Routers using the Google Home app on my iPhone. I input both ipv4 and ipv6 custom settings and then press save. I close out and when I go back in, it is set to automatic again. Can anyone help please? I have tried multiple times.

Since iOS is mentioned:

Then try to reboot you whole network from within the Google Home app, before trying to change and save DNS again.

If that does not do it, try to factory reset the whole Nest Wifi network by deleting it from Google Home ( https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6246619?hl=en ) and set it up from scratch ( https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9548301?hl=en ). Reuse your existinf network name (SSID) and password so that devices reconnect automatically.

Edit: Could also be worth trying the same thing from an Android phone, if none of the above works.
