If the Wi-Fi from the new ISP equipment has sufficient coverage around your place, why keep Nest Wifi at all?

If you need Nest Wifi, then best practice is to put the ISP equipment in bridge/bypass mode to avoid double NAT. Else you might experience performance degradation and strange problems. More on double NAT:

https://dongknows.com/double-nat-vs-single-nat/

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6277579?hl=en

So the recommendation is to use either only the A&T Fiber box' Wi-Fi and remove Nest Wifi. Or only Nest Wifi, but put A&T Fiber in bridge/bypass mode, which also disables its' Wi-Fi.

---

As for what SSID I'd use, I'd go with "Pretty fly for a Wi-Fi" ( 😉 ).

I feel dumb but I can't figure this out...
Mesh system was originally connected to Spectrum internet using lastnamewifi as SSID. We configured AT&T Fiber internet the other day and named it lastnamenew.
Today I disconnected the mesh system from Spectrum and hooked it up to the AT&T router. Thinking lastnamewifi remains the SSID attached to the mesh network, even with new router, I connected to it using my MacBook Air. But a speed test is showing less than 50mbps download. However, speed test from the Google Home app is showing at 905mbps. When I connect back to lastnamenew, assuming now I am connecting back to AT&T router wi-fi without the mesh in the middle, speeds are much higher. But that doesn't make sense that the mesh would degrade the performance that badly when the Home app clearly shows that everything is functioning correctly?
