Nest WiFi Points Randomly Degrade and Fail

Google Nest Wifi mesh Points randomly connect, degrade, and disconnect. I have rebooted the router several times (including rebooting all the points) and still the problem persists after a day or two.

What is a good mesh replacement for google nest wifi? Google product or not?

Here is the thread for this on going issue. My understanding is it's a hardware issue that Google has been trying to resolve for years.

I'm probably going to get the TP-Link Deco AX3000 as it would fit my needs. So over Nest products. Had to get rid of my thermostat and now nest WiFi because of this issue. Super annoying and expensive.

If you are and the problem persists, I want you to know that our product team is already rolling out a new firmware update that should resolve this kind of issues. Thanks for this update.

I “upgraded” a month ago and bought 2 pro kits totaling over $700.

But I cannot keep my network up for more than 2 days. Tried the factory reset procedure above a couple times.

also had google fiber out to test and replace my Jack. They confirmed it’s the nest pro devices.

im very unhappy with the product but outside the Home Depot return period.

Hopefully this firmware fixes it.

Do you know the version number?

Thanks. I am so frustrated. Nest is unworkable if the points disconnect or degrade. Do you know if Nest products and Google Home can be used with a non-Nest wifi mesh system (e.g. TP-Link)? I am not in a financial position to simply replace all my thermostats and smoke detectors at the same time as I replace my mesh wifi system.

Thank you for advising that there will be a Firmware update that should resolve the problem I described. Can you provide an estimated time frame for this? I am having point connectivity degradation and cancellation issues on a daily basis. This is simply not acceptable. If Google was aware of this issue for over 2 years, why has nothing been done and why was their never a purchaser warning?

So today my Internet was having problems and I reset the Nest router. I did a speed test before the reset through the home app and then Okoola. Both completed on my phone. The home app showed what I normal get but the next speed test showed what I was really getting. The 3rd picture is after the reset and so back up normal. I am hoping this is fixed quickly as I do not have time to reset the router everyday.

I reset the wifi/network yesterday and so far it is working. However, my home generator is still not able to connect to the manufacturer's website (this tells my service company when thre is a service issue). It had worked for a month after installation and then suddenly stopped. All the ethernet connections to the switch are good (tested by an electrician) and, oddly, the generator service panel says that the generator is connected to the internet. However, the manufacturer's monitoring app says there is no data coming from the generator. My unmanaged switch has only one ethernet connection that shows yellow...you guessed it, the generator's ethernet connection. Everything else works fine through the switch. I can only think that this is a router problem at this point (I changed the switch plugs several times with no luck). I will have to throw away the nest collection and move to another mesh wifi system soon. Big $ to do so. Google advised a firmware upgrade is coming, but they have not provided an ETA.

In Google home go to the devices tab. Click on the router and the settings button ( little cog wheel upper right). The version is under WiFi information. Mine matches what they show here but still having to reset it to get the speeds I need 😞
