Failing to connect devices to 2.4ghz

Hi. I have four Mill heater panel ovens (first gen: Skag) that I want to connect to a brand new Google Nest.

Google says the router will automatically direct devices to the right frequency. So a 2.4ghz device, should be connected to the 2.4ghz band.

But it fails to connect. I've tried all sorts of ways. Does anyone know how to make them connect?

Which Google/Nest router are we working with? What device are you using to set up your network (iOS or Android)? Do you have the Internet on your modem?

While Google Nest Wifi should automatically connect devices to the appropriate frequency (2.4GHz or 5GHz), there are some known limitations with first-generation Mill heater panel ovens and connecting them to smart home systems. Try these steps:

Separate Guest Network: Create a separate guest network on your Google Nest Wifi with only the 2.4GHz band enabled. Connect the Mill heaters to this guest network instead of the main network.
Do a sequential reboot of your entire network and see if that helps, or please perform a 2-minute power cycle on your entire network to re-establish the connection on your connected devices. Here's how:
- Disconnect the power from the modem.
- Disconnect the Ethernet cable and power cord from the parent point.
- Disconnect the power cord from the child points.
- Leave everything unplugged for 2 minutes.
- Connect the power cord to the modem then to your router and points.

Alternative Approaches:

Smart Plug Integration: Consider using smart plugs compatible with both Google Nest and 2.4GHz devices. Connect the heaters to these smart plugs and control them indirectly through the Google Home app.
Mill Smart Heater Upgrade: If budget allows, explore upgrading your Mill heaters to a newer generation that offers better smart home compatibility and might connect seamlessly to your Google Nest.

Ensure your Mill heaters are powered on and in pairing mode during the connection process.
