Moved to a new address and cannot find my password to set up my Google Nest Router

I plugged in my G-WIFI nest router and was able to connect using the address and log in credentials from my last house. I couldn't update the name or address of the location so I deleted it and started over. I scanned the QR code on the bottom and it put me into set up mode and asked me to enter a password. I have no idea where to get the password. Its not on the bottom of the router or on the box. Is this a default password? How can I reset it?

on nest wifi pro it is like engraved on the bottom. you need to make an extra attention to notice it. bad design IMHO.

Thanks for the input, vayvanne.

lynnbee, that certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Let’s do a manual factory reset.

At the bottom of the router, locate a circle etched into the device, then press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds. The light pulses yellow, then turns solid yellow. When the light is a solid yellow, release the button. The light turns solid white for about 5 seconds, then turns solid yellow.
The reset process starts once the light turns solid yellow. It can take up to 10 minutes for the router to reset, so don't unplug the power cord during this process.
When the factory reset is complete, the light on the router is faint, solid white. After a few seconds, it pulses white.
Once the Nest Wifi router pulses white, it's ready for setup.

I did find the engraved "setup code" on the bottom of the device and I entered that when I was prompted. The WIFI network named Setup44bd.ybd appeared. When I selected it, it asked me for a password. That is where I got stuck.

I have not had a chance to get try it again with Alex's instructions for a factory reset but I will in the next couple of days when life slows down a bit.

Hi Dan and Alex,

Success, I was able to get the Nest router up and running. I also was successful in adding two additional points.

However, when I tried adding another additional point from an older Nest set, it crashed my network. I had to reboot. I received the following error code:

DNS Resolution failed for googlehomefoyer-pa.googleapis.com:443:Unknown:nodename nor servname provided, or not known.

I tried adding additional points from an older set of points but then hosed up the mesh that I had successfullly created.

Is it possible to use a three year old google nest puck with the router and points that I purchased in February?

No worries about the delay. I am just thankful to you for any help. I don't know how to tell what type of points they are. The are shaped like 5" tall pucks, and have hard edges. The new ones have rounded edges and sit about 6" tall.

There is an 844 help number on the bottom for Google help desk but that number is out of order. Go figure.
