Google Nest wifi set up code - error message: this is not the code you are looking for

I am trying to add a nest wifi to my new network. I hard reset it by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds and then used the iOS Google Home app to "Add device". It finds the device and asks me to scan the QR code. When I do it says "This is not the code you are looking for" in a small alert banner at the bottom of the app.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi jamesscaggs,

Let’s get this sorted out. Is this a Google Nest Wifi router or point? Try to uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app, and then do the setup again. If the issue persists, check to see if using a different setup device works. Keep us posted.
