How can I check to see if my old onhub is still working? Is there a hack to view it?

I know it has been a while since the onhub was discontinued and I read the it may be still working.

I know I cannot see the onhub on the home app.

When I got my new replacement for the onhub, I put the old onhub in a far part of the home and tested and it did increase the wi-fi single, but that was a few years ago.

I was wondering if there another way, or a hack to view the onhub, other than the home app, to see if it is still working like it did when it was added before it was discontinued?

According to this Help topic, "After January 11, 2023 your OnHub router [introduced in 2016] will still provide a Wi-Fi signal, but you'll no longer be able to manage it with the Google Home app. You won't be able to update things like Wi-Fi network settings, add additional Wifi devices, or run speed tests."

Thank you for the reply. I thought it was working, so thank you for confirming.

Have your read about any hacks that would allow me to gain access to the onhub. There are so many clever people out there I figured someone must have figured out a way to access it by by now. 🙂

I'm not aware of any hacks for continung to use an OnHub router.

There is a 3rd party firmware for onhub devices called OpenWRT. I have no idea how well it works, or how hard it is to get up.

Some resources:

It will not be managable with Google Home with OpenWRT.

Is there there any tech folks out there forum that might know a way to access the old onehubs?

Thank you, but I am affraid to try to update the firmware, as I think it is working and I do not want to fix something that is not broke. There must be a way to access it via some kind of way like one does with the IP address on a modem. Odd that google has made it so difficult to do something so simple. I understand not providing support, but I do not understand why the old software will not work anymore. Very odd. Thx again.
