WiFi device time limits

How do i create a group of devices on my wifi and then set a TIME LIMIT on those devices. NOT A SCHEDULE. I want to create a group of our video game devices and set a limit for my kids of 1 hour per day within that group. This is such a simple ask but I can’t find anything other than creating a time schedule.

Hi Mtrappe,

Thanks for posting. I understand that you want to create a group of devices that get a limit of time for the WiFi connection. In this situation, the best option is to create a group of devices and then add this group to a schedule; this is the only option available on the Google Home app. Here is how:

Open the Google Home app.
Tap Favorites or Devices.

Favorites: Tap Wifi.
Devices: Tap and hold your device's tile > tap Settings > Network settings.

Tap on Family Wi-Fi.
At the bottom right, tap Add.
Select Group.
Tap Next to create a group.

Groups let you pause several devices with a single tap. You can create a group for an individual child:

Create a group name, and tap Next.
Choose the devices to add to the group, and tap Next. If you can't find the device, refer to the Help Center article. Can't find or identify device in Family Wi-Fi.
Turn off or on to restrict access, then tap Next.
Tap Schedule pauses to create a scheduled pause or Not now to finish.

After that you can create the schedule:

Open the Google Home app.
Tap Favorites.

Favorites > Tap Wi-Fi.

Tap Family Wi-Fi > Add > Schedule.
Give a schedule a name.
Select a group and tap Next.
Select a start time, end time, and the days the scheduled pause is to happen.
Tap Done.

No that’s not what I’m looking to do. Thanks anyway. I want to allow an hour a day but not a specific hour like the schedule requires me to do. Really wish it had this feature. Seems obvious to me.

Thanks for your reply. I understand that you want to get the possibility to turn on and off the WiFi connection of some devices at any time of the day. Unfortunately, this option is not available, but we appreciate your feedback. We're constantly working on improvements, and your input helps us shape future features.
