Google mesh repeatedly going off line lately

My mesh all of a sudden is going offline daily. The system has been set up for two years. My internet/modem has not change, nor have I added anything to the network.

I am having this same issue and made a tread as well.

Do you experience any yellow flashing lights throughout the day?

not a yellow light but white and the app shows them offline. I’ve factory reset, reinstalled and still nothing.

I appreciate all your efforts in trying to get your mesh system working again by factory resetting it and reinstalling it. Let's fix this! To gather some more details, I'd like to ask the following questions:

Do you use a modem and router combo?
Is there a switch on the network?
How far are the WiFi points from each other?

Hello, I use a a router, which I have reset (unplugged and plugged back in). There has been no changes to my network. The WiFi point are in the same locations that they have been in for the past two years. I am not sure of the distance.

To diagnose the root of the inconvenience, I'd like to suggest running a mesh test; here are the steps:

Open the Google Home app.
Tap the WiFi space .
Then, select the WiFi points.
Select Test mesh.
The results will show the connections of all your Nest WiFi or Google WiFi points. If one or more has a weak connection, the app will tell you.

I'm having this problem as well. Multiple times per day. I haven't changed the location of my nest wifi pro and within the last month or so, am getting error messages saying the mesh network can't connect. If I switch connections to the old FIOS router, I connect with no issues, so clearly there is a problem with the nest wifi pro.

That's the interesting aspect of this issue. I'm connected to my nest wifi pro network, open Google home, and get the error that it can't load the screen and to check my internet connection. Once I switch to my other router (only broadcasts in 2.4ghz for support to 1 item since i can't isolate this on nest wifi pro. Nest wifi has been plugged in it to for 2 yrs, no movement of items.), google home opens and loads. I've run the tests, unplugged/wait/replug the nest wifi pro, etc. Only thing I haven't done is the factory reset.

I have been having the same issue for 2-3 days now. The mesh network shows offline, I have to reset the mesh network multiple times a day. I called my ISP and they did some test on the modem and everything looks good on their end. I also believe it's an issue with the Google Wifi Pro mesh network. I have been running this network for years with no issues, but all of sudden this started.

I appreciate all your efforts in trying to get it working again by unplugging, plugging it back again, resetting, and checking with the ISP. To isolate the root of the inconvenience, I'd appreciate it if you could confirm the make and model of the upstream device to confirm the topology of your network.

Make sure to double-check the model to verify if it's a modem, modem and router combo, or router.

This is not an isolated problem. The problem isn’t with individual’s home net or equipment, it’s apparent that the problem is with the google network, and they refuse to acknowledge this.

My nest wifi pro is plugged in to a Verizon fios g1100 router. Considering the nest wifi pro has been plugged in this router since I purchased the nest wifi pro in March 2023, I highly doubt that is the problem, but welcome your research.

Thanks for following up and the detailed information. I'd like to make sure there's no potential Double Network Address Translation inconvenience.

Connecting 2 routers can extend the WiFi coverage in your home. But when there are 2 routers―each with their own private WiFi network―your personal devices can have a hard time communicating with each other. This scenario is called Double NAT.

This can also result in a lack of performance; I'd like to recommend removing the ISP-provided router from your network to test it. Here is how to do it:

Connect a computer directly to your ISP-provided router with an Ethernet cable.
Log in to your modem and router combo, then find its settings to enable bridge mode.
To access your router's settings, you might have to open an internet browser and enter your router's IP address in the address bar like this:

Steps will vary depending on the device. Many ISPs and manufacturers provide instructions on how to enable bridge mode. To learn how to turn on bridge mode, check your ISP's support website.

It’s already on Bridge mode. It’s been on Bridge mode for 2 years now.

Just like other people here i’m sure they are all on Bridge mode. The problem is not on our end its on your end.

Yes, I'm having the same problem for at least a month now. Getting notifications that the Wi-Fi has lost its internet connection, notifications that points are offline, and the Google Home app is TRASH. I have not changed anything, I have factory reset my WiFi system, reset the Internet modem (Verizon - and it has no trouble with it's Wi-Fi), and because of the SYSTEMIC Google ecosystem between the WiFi and Home services, all my nest cameras show as offline far too often.

Also, the network is NOT offline, we have many streaming TV's, phones, games, music going constantly and have not seen ONE hiccup in their performance.

Yeah same with me. My camera performance has been poor lately, a lot of loading time waiting and just loosing connection after a while.

The Google App has been crashing a lot recently as well. Not impressed especially coming from Google.

Kinda makes the nest cameras and doorbell useless for any sort of security purpose... Nevermind that I pay a subscription...

They made some big change that had unintended consequences, it happens all the time, but this just sucks

I think it’s time to leave the Google network, since they choose not to address the systematic problem with their network, but instead gaslight the customer.
