Replacement Nest Router/Point UK power adaptor

I have just purchased a Nest Router and 2 Points but on unpacking them I find they come with US power adapters where I need the UK version.

Anyone know the specification for these jack plugs, the power rating and jack sizes so that I can buy replacements

Perhaps the more fundamental problem, given they have US power adapters, is you've purchased US devices for use in the UK. The 5 GHz band is regulated differently around the world. Google Wifi and Nest Wifi units manufactured for use in the US for example use the 5 GHz channel in a way that is not allowed in the EU and UK. WiFi units manufactured for use in the EU and UK use a different 5 GHz channel.

One way to totally confirm the region is to find the LAN IP address of the router (can be seen in Google Home app for instance), then, while connected to Wifi or PC by wire, go to "http://<ipaddress>/api/v1/status" from a browser. For example, it may be http://192.168.86.1/api/v1/status. There you should find a countryCode value.

I'd strongly recommend returning these to their place of purchase if they are intended for use in the US. Using units manufactured for a different country potentially increases your chance of issues and it's definitely not supported by Google.

Many thanks for this, after running the status page it turns out this equipment is for the Australian market. I purchased this kit while in Hong Kong recently and was given a European travel adapter, I really did not think about whether the radio frequency used was the same or not. Having said that I have plugged this in at home (using said travel adaptor) and I see no problem but obviously if the firmware is not able to be updated by google then I will need to look at buying the UK version

Thanks for dropping back in and letting us know what the issue ended up being. Hopefully you can get this worked out by getting the version that is compatible with your region.
