Samsung TV connects to google wifi (mesh) network but not internet?

I have recently installed Google wifi (3 points) and sorted everything but my Samsung TV. It easily picks up the network and confirms it is connected after I enter the password but says no internet!

I have reset the TV but this does everything except resetting the network so it doesn't work!

If I connect the TV to my old network/main router (different password) it connects immediately but with a very weak signal - one of the main reasons of my installing google wifi .

I had the exact problem with all of our iPhones but after resetting their network settings internet immediately became available.

Any ideas?

What IP address and DNS does your TV get? Is it hard coded/ stuck from your previous network?

not sure as I'm not at home at the moment but I have tried setting the dns setting to 8:8:8:8 as was also suggested somewhere I read, but this didn't work either.

Check the IP when you get home, it's hard to provide any other troubleshooting steps before we have that information.

Also check that Google Home app reports the same IP and MAC address as the TV itself.

Did you use the exact same network name (SSID) and password as your old network? Could be that the TV expect older encryption (WEP) than what Nest Wifi uses (WPA2 and optionally WPA3).

I'll check the IP etc when I get home but no, I called the google wifi a different network name.

My old wifi network still remains of course as the original router is still in place but just doesn't travel very well around the house - hence the purchase of the mesh system.

I've been in touch with Samsung and they haven't any idea.

How did you connect it all up? Could be double NAT issues too.

Looks good. Then I have no idea why your TV doesn't get an internet connection, if other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi does.

Hi Jeff, no mate - still haven’t sorted it. I connected it with Ethernet cable and it worked but when I tried again without cable it still wouldn’t work despite all settings being exactly the same. It then wouldn’t even connect wired with Ethernet for a while, but then for some reason, decided to play ball and worked again. Any help in sorting this would be really appreciated 👍

The most common fix on Youtube is to unplug the Tv but I have tried this many times, leaving it unconnected for hours at time, but it still doesn't work.

Hi, everyone.

Out of curiosity, has anyone reached out to Samsung support to see if there are any known issues with any specific models of TVs that you might have? I'm wondering if there could be a firmware issue on their end. I don't know if that's the case, but it could be worth looking into if the issue seems to only affect specific TVs.

Hi Jeff, yes; regrettably wasted a few hours on to Samsung but absolutely useless - basically reading from a pre prepared script regardless of what you say and offering no solution at all. One guy did say he could try a few things but was leaving shift so would leave notes for me to call back late. No surprise that no notes had been left and advisor was as much use as a chocolate fireguard. In the end, giving me a number to call for a technician to come out to fix. 🤦‍♂️ Called the number and got the response they don’t cover my area. Total waste of time and so frustrating 😡

Good day. I found a solution to the exact issue you have/had. I went to my Google Home app. Clicked on Wifi. Scrolled down to devices and found my Samsung TV. I noticed the device was set on pause. I unpaused and the TV fired right up to the internet.
