How to Hardwire my Google Wifi

My google wifi is connected via ethernet to a modem in my livingroom and I have one Wifi point in my hallway to deliver the wifi signal to the computers in the back of my apartment. My new job is requiring me to have a hard wire connection and I am wondering how to connect my google device via ethernet to my computer (located in the back of my apartment)

Hello @Tigerlillyaw

You have a few options. First, the primary Google WiFi (the one connected to your modem) has a second "LAN" Ethernet port. You can connect a computer to that, or connect an inexpensive (unmanaged) Ethernet switch to make more ports available and connect a computer to that switch.

Second, the secondary Google WiFi (in your hallway) has two Ethernet ports you can use to connect nearby wired devices via Ethernet. On a secondary, you can use either port, or you can connect a switch and make even more ports available. The only possible issue here is that while your computer will technically be connected via Ethernet, there is a wireless mesh hop between that secondary and the primary. So, if that's a problem for your company, then you need to use the first approach outlined above.
