Double NAT address

Hello How do I address double NAT addresses. My fiber connection is on a pass through mode so I only use the modem but not the router. This is hard wired to a Googlr Wifi Gen 1 puck which has two other pucks as points. The Google wifi router haa a different Wan address than the modem. What do I do?

You bridge the modem, ask your ISP how, or search up the specific modem model and brand + bridge.

Side note: It's possible to port forward through two NAT routers, if that's what you mean.

Thank you. I will ask my ISP about bridging the modem. I am doing this because remote access to my PLEX server drops off and PLEX says it is due to double NAT addresses

I see. It will be more reliable if you set up port forwarding rules vs. UPnP, no matter double or single NAT. 🙂

Thank you. How do you do that? I have UPnP active on my Mesh network and understand basic networking but do not know how to set port forwarding rules. Can you point me to s how to specifically to a Google mesh system. Thank you again.

Preferably connect the machine running Plex with ethernet cable:

Then set static IP first, by using DHCP reservation:

Then port forward:

Must also port forward on the other modem/ router if you don't manage to bridge it.

Hi Thank you. I have done items 2& 3 static IP of where Plex server is connected and will wire it. I have to connect it to the router or I can connect to any point as my router is downstairs while switch where Plex server is connected is upstairs in our home. Have accepted your soultion and observe how it works. Thank you again.

It is working much better now but I still have to hardwire my Macbook to complete the recommendation. And also get in touch with my ISP so I can set up port forwarding at the modem. Thank you for asking and the community for being so helpful.

Hi Edward I have hard wired

my Macbook to a point on its LAN port. And it has stabilized the situation more. However I have a question.When I check on the Home it still says it is a wireless connection and when tested it still shows wireless speeds Does this mean my Ethernet connection is not working
