Problems + Protect(s) - Install/Reinstallations

I have a house with 10 Nest thermostats and 9 Nest Protects installed late 2017. They all worked fine for a couple of years - then ALL the Protects dropped off the network. None of the ‘help’ suggestions work. If I try to reconnect a Protect, it just gets stuck (hours not minutes) when trying to connect to the network and I reset another and when trying to install it as new the iOS app crashes repeated and if I get past this, it then hangs trying to connect to the network (when 3 feet from the router)….. I get the same problems repeatedly. The system used to work - but really is unreliable and unsafe - this is a an unrealizable and poorly supported set of products.
