I understand you are having trouble with your Nest Protect (2nd Gen) because, following a hardware issue with the power connector, your electrician advised that the wires need to be replaced and you want to confirm where to buy them. I’m glad to share more information with you.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;While the smoke and CO detectors may still seem to work, the oxidation (the "green stuff") on the connectors is a safety risk that can lead to electrical failure or prevent the unit from working during an emergency. Because Nest Protect is a certified life-safety device, the 120V power connectors are proprietary parts that are not sold or provided separately. Using non-certified or third-party wiring would void the safety certification, so a full unit replacement is required to ensure your home remains protected and meets safety standards.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;I have 2 gen smoke and co devices that needs wires. I can't see why we have to buy brand new ones when they work find. The wires has green stuff on mine. The electrician said to just order new ones. I had my units for over 5 years. Where can I buy the wires from..&amp;nbsp;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;Nest -A3AF&lt;/P&gt;</description>
