I contacted Nest Support, explained the issue and because I was still under warrenty they said they would send me a new baseplate. I provided my address and 4 days later I got a box from Nest and inside.... well yes there was a new baseplate but it was attached to a whole new Nest Protect unit! I guess they processed this as a full warrenty replacement instead of a simple part swap. Not complaining, now I have 2 units for the price of one.... But still short one baseplate... 😞
