Having troubles with Nest smoke alarm. The QR code is destroyed and there isn't a key code. Is there another way to set it up ?

Hey there ToddMcc,

Sorry to see that the QR code on your Nest Protect is destroyed, but I'm happy to hop in here to help.

If your phone can’t scan the QR code, you can manually type in the key or serial number.

Tap Continue without scanning at the bottom of the QR code scanning screen. Then type in your product’s entry key or serial number.
You can tap Find the code or Show me how, and the app will show you where the serial is located on your product.

Tip: If you have a hard time reading your Nest product’s entry key or serial number, take a picture with your phone’s camera. Then open the picture in your photo app and zoom in.
