I wouldn't buy any more Protects, as they are not supported in Google Home. Switch to a different ecosystem while you still can.

Please confirm if this 3rd generation of protect alarm is CURRENTLY (Today, not soon) going to appear in Google Home with full functionality or if management is required to be done from the Nest app.

I actually want to buy the 3rd generation Nest Protect which is available in the USA but not in Canada. I’m not sure how long I’m going to have to wait for the 3rd generation Nest Protect.

We don't have the timeframe to share when this will be launched and in what app it will be allowed to operate, but stay tuned for more news and updates. Currently, only the Google Nest Protect (2nd generation) is available in Canada.

We appreciate your request for this additional product, and please be assured that our product team is working non-stop with different partners to bring the best to the Google Nest devices. So, please let our product team know about it by sending feedback.

Do not lock this thread. You have only come here and provided a non answer. If "our product team is working non-stop" were true, why is a company as big as Google, not able to even provide basic customer support, let alone make a product work like it was marketed to?

I am not aware of the 3rd generation nest protect available in the US. What new features does it have compared to the second generation. When was it released? Do you have a link to the 3rd gen. Does it support thread/matter? Is it integrated in the google home app? I live in the US and I am completely unaware of such a product; however, I have been patiently waiting for a third gen refresh for a while. I am almost ready to give up.

You are probably correct that a Nest Protect 3rd generation doesn’t exist. I was probably taken in by some wishful thinking on the internet.

The Nest Protect 2nd Generation is on sale now at some stores in Canada so I will buy them. It doesn’t appear that a 3rd Generation Nest Protect even exists.
