can't connect to network. Failed to add Nest Protect to account

I recently bought a house with 5 Nest Protects. They were all showing the yellow color instead of blue so I tried to reconnect to the app but no luck. I've tried everything in the Help sections. I reset to factory defaults. I took them off the ceilings and put them together close to the router. I scan the QR, see my network, enter the password. I have an EERO mesh network and it tells me a Nest has been added. After that the Nest app just spins trying to connect to the Nest network, until it says it couldn't add the Nest to the Nest account, and gives my the P018 (.65) error code. I also tried pushing the button on the Nest three times, as well as restarted the Nest app and my iphone 13. Is there something else I'm missing. Must be. Thanks for any help.

I posted the above. I am not sure if the Nest Protect is Gen 1 or not but they are for Aug. 2015, so they are old.

Turns out these old Nest are just to old for my new mesh router. I bought one new Nest and it hooked up fine.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and for sharing all the steps you’ve tried to fix the issue.

Here are the most important recommended Wi-Fi network and router settings for use with Nest products.

Enable 802.11 b/g/n if you have an 802.11 ac router.
Set your Wi-Fi router's DHCP lease time to at least 2 hours.
Turn on your router's Power Save Mode (PSM) if you have a Nest thermostat.
Enable IPv6 if you have Nest Protect.
On your Wi-Fi router, turn on multicast if you're adding additional Nest devices.

Also, 1st and 2nd gen Nest Protects only work with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. If you haven’t done so already, enable 2.4 GHz on your router to connect them.

If the Nest app shows the P018 error message again, follow this guide to troubleshoot a P002, P008, P009, P013, or P018 Nest Protect message.
