Nest Protect and Alexa

So, I suppose I feel trap to some tightrope walking on Google's part with Nest Protect. I hated it when Google bought Nest. I just purchased three Nest Protects for my home with the understanding that it does work with Alexa and yet, to get them to sync I need the protects to show up in my google home app, which I cannot get them to do. I just need a clear understanding. Does the Google Home app support Nest Protect or not? If the answer is no, is there any other way to get my Nest Protects to work with Alexa?

While Google offers a Smart Home skill to connect your Nest devices to Amazon's Alexa home control, the Google Nest skill for Amazon Alexa works with the following Nest devices:

Nest cameras and doorbells
Nest thermostats

I know this isn’t the answer you’re looking for, but Nest Protect does not work with Amazon Alexa. You can check out this guide to learn how to control Google Nest products with Amazon Alexa.

Also, you can only set up and control Nest Protect on the Nest app.
