Nest Detect App Crashing

Does anyone else have the issue with the Nest Detect not working even after a new battery is installed? I have removed and deleted the Detect and reinstalled it. I get to the steps where the placement of the Detect is located, the app freezes and then crashes. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled that as well.

I read the forums on this subject and followed the instructions. Close apps, disconnect the wifi, check iOS verions etc. etc. etc. and nothing seems to work.

The app freezes....jumps forward steps all at once and then it crashes. This is extremely frustrating. I am leaving on a work conference and leaving my family alone and this is very unsetteling not to have this working for them while I am gone.

Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your Nest Detect. I'm here to help you get it sorted out.

Please try the steps below:

Uninstall the Nest app, restart your phone, and then reinstall the app.
Make sure Nest Guard is set to Off. If you don’t, the alarm will sound when you try to reset Detect to factory defaults.
Press and hold Detect’s button for about 15 seconds. The light ring will pulse blue, then glow yellow.
When it starts to glow yellow, release the button. Detect will reset itself to factory defaults.
Set up and install Nest Detect.
