Home and Guarding

I don't seem to be able to set Motion Detection "On" when I use "Home and Guarding". I've got Detects in several rooms that I want to protect from any motion during "Home and Guarding", and in the past it was always possible to protect the lower floor of the house while the upper floor permitted motion. Has something changed? This is a new setup replacing an old Nest Secure. (I know, I know...but I'll deal with the product's sad and entirely unnecessary death next spring).

Thanks for reaching out to the Community; I’d be happy to help you with the Nest Detect.

By default, motion detection is disabled when Nest Secure’s security level is set to Home and Guarding. However, you can enable motion detection for Nest Guard and Detect in the Home and Guarding settings using the Nest app.

To get to Nest Secure settings, follow these steps:

Tap Settings on the Nest app home screen.
Tap Security .
You’ll find a list of different options and settings that you can change.
In Security levels, select Home and Guarding .
Select Motion detection.
Tap the switch on Guard and each Detect for which you want to enable or disable motion detection. Keep in mind, motion detection can’t be turned on for windows, so this option won't appear for Detects installed on windows.
