topic Nest Yale Lock Battery Drain in Security

I recently installed my locks 3 weeks ago. For two weeks no issues then this week I’ve had to replace the batteries every other day for both locks 3 times. I’ve factory reset both locks multiple times. Added a nest connect near both locks so they are each less than 5 feet from a nest connect and placed the Google WiFi in the same hallway as both locks with no improvement in the battery life. Both Nest connects have green lights and when testing the WiFi connection both say they are good connections. I’ve never used rechargeable batteries and the temperature is normal. Is there anything else I’m missing to troubleshoot. This is very frustrating and seems like these locks were a waste of time and money. I’ve tried to contact Yale locks but they said to contact Google Nest for help.

Has anyone found a fix for the batteries draining? We’ve had ours for a couple years without issue. Now batteries are draining in a couple days.

it appears that Google closes the threads so people can no longer reply that they’re having issues.

Hi there ScottWes,

Thanks for posting in our community.

How Nest X Yale locks battery drains depends on a variety of factors. Don't worry. Let's check the following to get your Nest X Yale Lock back on track.

If your lock is under colder climates than before, then the battery life might not perform as well as it did before.

Try a new pair of batteries. You can check this article about How to check and change your Nest × Yale Lock's batteries to do so.

If you've ensured your Nest X Yale Lock is under the same conditions and the batteries are fresh, I would suggest following this article about how to perform a Factory reset on the Nest × Yale Lock.

Let me know once you've done these steps.

Regards,

Angel.
