My Yale doorlock has worked fine with Nest Connect for over 3 years. First signs of trouble were tamper alarms occurring regularly without cause. It would work again after flipping a battery out and in, until the next alarm, days or weeks later. I tried to clear this alarm sign from my nest app without success and I finally tried removing the lock from nest. Nest version is 5.81.0.8 (on pixel 9) , Nest Connect 1.4 software version is 1.3.3-1. Now I cannot connect the lock to wifi using Connect. Connect is live and hence on the correct (not Guest) wifi network. I have 3-unit Orbi mesh network in a 1600 sf house. Following the Yale lock setup procedure I get stuck at "push button until flashing". Button does not light up by pushing it for a long time. Next: factory reset. Push reset button while inserting batteries: Yale button does not light up. Note that button does light up when I flip battery out and in. Please advise.

Thank you for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry you're having trouble connecting your Yale lock. I appreciate you trying some troubleshooting steps already. Let's try this next:

Disassembling the inside of the lock:
- Open the inside: Find the screws on the mounting plate (the part against the door) inside the lock and remove them with a screwdriver. Gently pry the plate apart.
- Locate the white wire: Inside, identify the white wire and note how it's connected.
- Disconnect the wire: Depending on the connection:
- Connector: Look for a small tab on the plastic connector. Press or lift it and gently pull the connector (hold the plastic, not the wire). If there's no tab, pull gently.
- Screw: Loosen the screw on the metal terminal slightly and unwrap the wire.
- Push-fit: Gently pull the wire. If it resists, look for a lever or button to press or slide while pulling.
- Remove the wire: Once disconnected, remove the white wire completely.
Reconnecting and testing:
- Wait 1 to 3 minutes.
- Reconnect the white wire securely.
- Try connecting your lock again.

That did it! Once reset, it connected to my Nest account quickly and easily. Thank you so much.
