I am having issues configuring google home mini. the configuration stops after connecting the wifi and choosing the location (livingroom for instance). I get the message kGSKErrorDomain-83902 and the process is not completed thus the nest mini is totally unusable

I have two nest minis.

Both have the same issue.

I tried getting another google account and try from that one. The problem remains.

My language is set on English. My region is Greece.

Any suggestions?

I’ve been trying to set up my new google nest mini for a few hours now, and every time I try click “next” for the google assistant, I get this error. I have read multiple threads telling me to change the language, reset my router, reset the google nest and more. Absolutely nothing has worked. I don’t know what to do.

I have this happen sometimes. Try to access the page from Google Chrome and not through the app. If it keeps defaulting to the app try to use in desktop site version or my failsafe is open a new incognito tab on desktop site mode.

What language are you using in your Google Home app? If possible, try using another phone and observe if it makes a difference.

What model of Nest Mini is it that you're not able to setup? This article will help you determine that:

Would you mind helping us troubleshoot by confirming the below?

You're using the latest version of iOS? As of writing that's iOS 17.1.1.
You're using the latest version of the Google Home app? As of writing that's 3.9.104.
You've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it?
You've tried turning your phone off and on again?
Your phone's language and region is set to English?
Your Google account language is set to English? See here: https://myaccount.google.com/language
You're not using a VPN or a proxy on your phone or tablet? (If you don't know what those are ignore this).
iCloud private relay is turned off and local network access is enabled?
- Open the iOS settings app. tap your name at the top > iCloud > Private Relay > Off. Tap back to the main settings screen > Privacy & Security > Local Network > Enable Google Home.
You've tried factory resetting the speaker? Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays

Have you also tried the alternate setup steps below?

Force close the Google Home app. Swipe up from the bottom, hold, then let go. Swipe up on the Google Home app. On older devices with a home button, double-click the Home button, then swipe up on the Google Home app.
Open your phone or tablet's settings app.
Open the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
Look for and connect to an available network with the name “GoogleHomeXXXX" (where XXXX is a random number).
Once connected, re-open the Google Home app and follow the steps on screen.

Saying none of this works really doesn't help us troubleshoot. As another user, I cannot help you troubleshoot and give feedback to Google if you're not willing to answer the questions.

Hey guys! Thank you for your replies

I contacted google support regarding this and they advised to use an android device to set up the google nest minis.

Thankfully I managed to get access to an android device and did complete the set up.

It seems to be an issue with iPhone users I think?

I will keep the suggestions however in case this happens again since having an android device just for this cannot be a sustainable solution.

I tried all of your suggestions above and I still get the same error message. I have reset the app, my phone, the devices (several times), tried several different ways to set it up. I don’t understand how I had two working devices on Saturday afternoon, then they stopped working and when I try to set them up again I get this fail message and now have two useless devices.

Good to confirm you did try all of the above. You can probably appreciate we do occasionally see more flippant comments like that, where that's not necessarily true. It does seem to only affect iPhone users, and using an Android phone or tablet will workaround this issue. I am sharing this feedback with Google, as that's clearly not a great workaround by any means.

Absolutely not, I only have IOS devices and certainly am not going to purchase an android device just to work these products it’s counterintuitive and an unnecessary cost. I hope we can get some resolve soon because as you can imagine it’s quite frustrating.

What is the solution when no android devices available? I have 6 nest devices that are currently totally useless. I have been through all of the above multiple times.

Having the exact same issue, one day my mini stops working and then i can’t complete set up on it as i keep getting that error message just as i accept the terms and conditions?? No just purchased a chromecast HD and same thing!!

Ok using ios and both languages set to English AU. Juni is anyone at Google working on a solution? Update please.

I has the same error and I changed the language of my phone for English (us) and also changed the google nest language for English (us) and I worked 🙂
