Google home mini says my contact has no phone number listed

I am using google nest mini 2nd generation and I was trying to setup call via telephone provider. So I add the contact to the household contact list and when I ask Google to call "Wife" there is no phone number listed for XXXX. I am not sure what is the issue here. I tried different ways but nothing is working. Can someone help here please.

Hi Garrett thanks for offering the help. My issue is still not resolved. I tried almost all different options which I find in google. Now I am wondering whether this feature of calling from telephone provider is not available, it can be done only through Google duo
