Sky Sports Radio not playing

My nest hub has stopped playing Sky Sports Radio. Up until recently, it worked for 12 months.

if I say “hey google, play Sky Sports Radio on TuneIn”, it just plays another radio station (Triple J)

if I say “hey google, play Sky Sports Radio on Radio app”, it just says “something went wrong, please try again later”

Hi Troy79,

I know how it feels when something isn’t working the way it should. Let’s further look into it. A few questions: are other stations working fine? Do you have other Google Nest speakers/displays aside from your Google Nest Hub? Try asking Google Assistant on your phone to play Sky Sports radio, and let me know if it works.

I am having the same problem not casting but all other station work fine. Did you find a solution?

Hey folks,

Chiming in. We just want to check if you are still experiencing the concern. You can also refresh your devices and observe if it makes a difference. First, reboot your Wi-Fi router, and once the network is back up, do the same thing to your Google Nest speaker.

Yes still happening for me too. Yes of course I’ve tried rebooting everything.

when using Radio App on my iPhone works perfectly every time. But saying to google home “play sky sports radio” it says “playing sky sports radio on radio app” opens and then stalls and says “something went wrong try again later”. If I ask to “play 2gb” it says “playing 2gb on radio app” opens and plays immediately..

When i open radio app on iPhone play Sky sports radio and then try to cast - nothing happens.

This is so frustrating and i end up listening to it on my iPhone on speaker.

Thanks for posting. It appears that this is isolated to Sky Sports radio only. Have you tried contacting their support team for awareness? Let us know their response by updating this thread.

The only way you can hear the SPR stream at the moment is via their own web page at https://www.skyracing.com.au/listen For some reason they cannot broadcast over radio apps and they are not answering anyones queries as to why making the situation extremely frustrating. I would love to know why and who their PR person is deciding to ignore 1000’s of loyal listeners.
