My speakers seem to have lost the ability to play podcasts. My command "play coast to coast am podcast" is not understood anymore. This was one feature i used every night. I do recall hearing Google Podcasts is going away, for whatever stupid reason. Anything Google I have used gets nixed, I might be done with their products. Are there any alternative commands to play podcasts?

Hi BE123,

Thanks for letting me know and I'm sorry for this situation. Here are some ways to play podcasts despite the Google Podcasts shutdown:

Using your existing assistant:

Alternate Wording: Try rephrasing your command. Instead of "play podcast," say "listen to the Coast to Coast AM podcast." Assistants are constantly learning, so slightly different wording might work.

Specify the Provider: If your assistant integrates with other podcast providers, be specific. For example, say "play Coast to Coast AM on Spotify" or "play Coast to Coast AM using Pocket Casts."

Using a different podcast app:

Download a Podcast App: Many excellent free podcast apps exist. Popular options include Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, and Overcast. These apps have built-in players and vast libraries, including Coast to Coast AM.

Set the Default App: Once you choose an app, link it to your assistant. This allows commands like "play Coast to Coast AM" to automatically open the chosen app and play the podcast.

Let me know if that helps.

Regards,

Ivan

Ivan,

With your advice i was able to add a new podcast provider in the Home App to meet my needs. Much appreciated! Cheers.
