Hello,

I'm 70 yrs old so please be patient with me. I have a few Nest speakers and they are great fun. However, when I ask her to tell me a joke, which I've been doing for ages, she keeps repeating the same joke about a duck and has been repeating it for many weeks now. How can I get this fixed so she can tell me more jokes?

Just as an update, I was checking here by my own to help you.

Here are a few things you can try to get your Nest speaker to tell you some fresh jokes:

Change the Wording: While Google Assistant might have gotten stuck on the duck joke, it might understand different phrasings. Instead of "tell me a joke," try:
- "Hey Google, surprise me with a joke."
- "Hey Google, can you tell me a funny story?"
- "Hey Google, what's the latest pun?"
Specify a Joke Type: Assistant can tell different types of jokes. You can ask for:
- "Hey Google, tell me a knock-knock joke."
- "Hey Google, hit me with a dad joke."
- "Hey Google, can I hear a funny one-liner?"
Restart Your Nest Speaker: Sometimes a simple reboot can refresh Assistant's memory. Just unplug your Nest speaker for a minute and then plug it back in.
Explore Other Entertainment Options: While Assistant might be stuck on jokes, it can offer other fun things. Try:
- "Hey Google, play some trivia."
- "Hey Google, tell me a fun fact."
- "Hey Google, play some music."

Remember, these digital assistants are still under development, and sometimes they get stuck in routines. Hopefully, these tips will help you unlock a wider variety of entertainment from your Nest speakers.
