Cannot get amber lights off. Tried everything

My microphone won't come on no matter when I turn the switch on or off it still says it's off all the time, 4 orange dots stay on, I tried resetting it I'm plugging it and still have the same issues

What type of speaker or display device do you have? Here's a helpful article about how to identify the model of your speaker or display.
Is the speaker or display successfully set up?
Is there anything covering the device?
How long did the device work as intended before you experienced this symptom?
Does the speaker or display never respond to commands, or does it only respond sometimes?

In the meantime, I'd suggest the following:

Verify that the speaker or display's microphone isn't blocked and that it's not muted. When muted, the device says, "The mic is muted" and shows four solid orange LEDs. When unmuted, it says, "The mic's back on." You can learn more in the next article: Control Google Nest or Home devices by touch.

I have a 1st generation. Device keeps saying mic is off. I can't use it properly. Now I am stuck with a device I can't use. Please help.

Thanks for following up. I understand how frustrating it is when your Nest device doesn't work as expected. Let's try to fix this!

Would you mind sharing a photo of your device and the LED status light?

I suggest the following:

Verify that the Google account on screen is the one linked to the speaker or display.
Tap and hold a finger on the touch surface of the speaker or display for approximately 3 seconds, and check My Activity to check the audio record quality. Say the following command: "What's the weather outside?" Then follow these steps:
- Open the Google Home app and tap Settings.
- Under Home Features, tap Privacy.
- Select Home activity.
- Identify the most recent command that generated a failed response.
- Select Details below your Assistant Query (this will expand out the details).
- Tap the Play button on the query card (play a few) to confirm from My Activity what the speaker or display heard at the time the inconvenience occurred.
Check if the audio recording is clear or if there is static, buzzing, or distortion. This is to identify if the Nest devices can hear you but can't take action.

I also recommend performing a factory reset on the Nest device. Just keep in mind that this will delete all the data, and you'll need to set up the device again. For instructions, you can refer to the next article: Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays.

still showing amber lights. Don't know how to show photo. I did everything you metion. Back to square 1. This device is defective. Never drop, never took apart. Please help thank you.
