Hi @SantiVMatiz,

First I would like to thank you for posting on our community page, on the other hand I apologize for the inconvenience that you are having. Let me tell you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to fix the problem.

You've definitely got it! Nest Minis with Google Assistant can handle multi-room audio perfectly, allowing you and your father to listen to different tunes in your own spaces. Here's how to make it work:

1. Setting Up Speaker Groups:

Grab your phone or tablet and open the Google Home app.

Tap the "+" button in the top left corner and choose "Speaker group."

Select your Nest Mini and any other compatible speakers you want to group together (like another Nest Mini in your father's room).

Give your group a catchy name to remember (e.g., "My Zone" or "Dad's Domain").

Tap "Save" to finalize the group.

2. Play Your Own Music:

Now, whenever you want to listen to music in your room, just tell your Nest Mini:

"Hey Google, play [your preferred music genre/artist/song] on [your speaker group name]" (For instance, "Hey Google, play some jazz music on My Zone").

Your Dad's Turn:

Your father can follow the same steps to control the music in his room using his voice:

"Hey Google, play [his music preference] on [his speaker group name]" (For example, "Hey Google, play classical music on Dad's Domain").

With this setup, you both can enjoy your own music selections without affecting each other's listening experience.

Regards,

Mario.

Hi, I just set up the Google Nest Home system with speakers in each of my kids rooms, parents room and the hub display in the kitchen. For the first week the kids were able to play their own music or podcasts in their rooms, I played around with downtime, setting tasks and alarms etc, and now when you ask for music on a speaker it cuts any other one off. My kids are going to kill each other!

I've unplugged and reset all devices, deleted and reinstalled apps, rebooted, renamed and reset all devices to factory settings, ensured when you speak to this speaker it plays music on this default speaker, made speaker groups for individual speakers as per instructions above, and turned off WiFi etc, and nothing has changed. Help!

Hi @DWar,

I understand your frustration! Multiple Nest speakers playing different things simultaneously sounds like a recipe for family chaos. It's great that you've already tried a lot of troubleshooting steps – resetting, renaming, and even creating speaker groups. Let's see if we can figure out why only one speaker plays music at a time now.

Here are a few things to consider:

Media Source Compatibility: Is it happening with all music sources (e.g., Spotify, YouTube Music)? Sometimes, there might be compatibility issues with specific media services. Try playing music from a different source and see if the issue persists.

Check for Software Updates: Ensure both the Google Home app and your Nest speakers are up to date with the latest software. Updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements.

If none of these solutions work you can call our customer service line for further assistance.

Regards,

Mario.
