Can’t control my Nest Speaker from the App

I have successfully set up my 2 Nest (2nd Gen) speakers in my Google home app and can see from the overview screen when they are playing media. However, when I try to tap in to a speaker to adjust volume, change settings… I get an error message saying the speaker is not available. No amount of restarting the device or the app is fixing this. It is occurring on both speakers. Any suggestions?

When did the situation start?
Did you have this inconvenience before?

Hi @gmelanymelissa,

I've recently moved house and the situation started when I moved to my new house and set up my speakers. They’re definitely connected to the internet though as I can stream things using Google assistant and can control the volume in the app from the favourites screen, just not when I then tap in to the speaker.

This is the first time I’ve had this problem.

I’ve made sure I have the latest version of the app, the problem still persists.

Thanks for the follow-up information.

Have a look at this guide:

Remove the devices: They will be unlinked from your Google Account. Refer to this article: Remove Google your Nest speakers from the Google Home app.
Factory Reset: This action will clear your data from the devices and can't be undone. Follow these steps to Factory Reset your Nest Speaker (2nd Gen).
