Changes to filter settings?

I'm wondering if there was a recently a change made to content filters on Google assistant? Previously I had content filters turned on in my Google home, and when I would ask it something that was "beyond the filter" it would say something like, "I'm sorry, I can't answer that when content filters are on." I noticed tonight that it was now giving answers to questions I think it previously would not have, and when I asked a question it wouldn't answer, it just said, "I'm sorry, I can't answer that."

I also noticed in the app that there is no mention of content filters, rather this:

Assistant Answers:

Allow all answers
Family-friendly answers only

Anyone have any insight?

Were there any particular keywords or topics that used to trigger the "I can't answer that" response?
have you tried testing different types of questions to see if there's a pattern to when Assistant provides an answer versus when it doesn't?
