Hello,

I am experiencing a persistent issue with my first-generation Google Nest Hub. The device, which was working perfectly in Japanese until about a month or two ago, has started responding in a mix of languages, including English, broken Japanese, and at times even unrecognizable phrases.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Restarting the device multiple times.

Resetting the language settings and reconfiguring it to Japanese.

Performing a full factory reset and setting up the device from scratch.

Checking and reconfiguring my Wi-Fi and other connected devices (e.g., Nature Remo).

Unfortunately, none of these actions have resolved the problem. The issue persists, making it difficult to use the device effectively.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem with the 1st Gen Nest Hub, or does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello @powerplay,

Thanks for posting in the community.

I understand the frustration of experiencing language issues with your Nest Hub. I appreciate your effort in trying to fix the issue on your own. To better assist you, please provide the following information:

What other languages have you configured on your phone? Having multiple languages might contribute to the Nest Hub's language confusion.

I recommend setting your phone's language to your preferred language to avoid potential conflicts, then trying another factory reset on your Nest Hub. You can follow the steps on this link: How to factory reset your Nest Hub device.

Please let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Regards,
Jorge
