BBC Radio Scotland not playing on Google Nest

Hi there,

My nest has stopped playing BBC Radio Scotland.

It will play BBC radio 1,2,3,4 via BBC sounds but not BBC radio Scotland.

Instead it says ‘I can’t do that on this device, but I found these on the web’ - link to BBC sounds, radio Scotland.

Click link - websites are not permitted on this device.

I’ve not changed any settings. I’ve turned off an on again at the wall. No joy.

I’d just like Radio Scotland back…any thoughts as to what’s going on?

Google Home and Google Mini suddenly not playing radio

We have a Google Home and a Google Mini. Both have been playing BBC radio stations for years.

Suddenly we are not being told, when we ask for our usual radio station, "I can't do that here but you can ask me to do that on one of your other devices." I am quoting verbatim.

When I ask for "music" they correctly play my Spotify account.

Google home is connected to my account so it's not a voice recognition issue.

If I ask for the weather I get the local weather report (our town is mentioned).

Timers are set OK.

So in all other respects the speakers and Home seem to be working.

I rebooted the Home speaker but it didn't help.

Hi, try saying 'hey google play bbc sounds radio scotland. This worked for us today - we had the same problem,

Tried it…no joy.
small comfort to know it’s not just me.
phone call to bbc to ask them tomorrow.

How do we get a google human to investigate this? Is the forum just for owners, or is there some moderator who links issues back into Google Technical Teams? Does anyone know?

Good luck - I tried all sorts of commands including'play bbc radio scotland on bbc sounds' - even 'play 92 to 95 FM'. I have a home mini and it was the same. Several reboots and checking the Google Home app made no difference. Again today was able to say 'play bbc sounds radio scotland' and it worked. I suspect BBC have changed some meta-data for some local radio stations.

Morning, and thanks admin for picking this up.

I can report BBC Radio Scotland is back on my nest. No changes at my end.

Play radio Scotland and play bbc radio Scotland both worked.

hopefully it’s not ‘random’ and it’s actually thoughtful intervention somewhere behind the scenes - bbc or google.
