Distorted Google Voice

When Google Assistant responds on my Gen 1 devices, the voice is distorted and sounds as if it’s under water. This is happening on two of my Google Home devices 75% of the time. My network connection is strong so I don’t believe it’s that.

Since when did the issue start?
What mobile device are you using to set up your devices?
How many Google Mini speakers do you have?
How many Nest Hubs do you have?
Is your Google Home app up to date?
Could you kindly confirm that the Google account you've linked to your Google Home app is the same one you've linked to your devices?
Could you please let me know in which country you are located?

Since when did the issue start? Several Months ago.
What mobile device are you using to set up your devices? Google Pixel 8a
How many Google Mini speakers do you have? 6
How many Nest Hubs do you have? 1
Is your Google Home app up to date? Yes, Version 3.28.1.7
Could you kindly confirm that the Google account you've linked to your Google Home app is the same one you've linked to your devices? Yes it is
Could you please let me know in which country you are located? USA

Issue started: ~9 months ago (could be a little longer)
Setup Device: iPhone 13 Pro
Google Devices: 2 Google Mini Speakers, 2 Google Home Speakers, 2 Google Hubs
Google Home app up is up to date
Confirmed, the Google account linked to my Google Home app is the same one linked to my devices.
