My Nest Hub keeps turning on at night in the early morning hours. How do I put a stop to it?

For Context: Every time I get up to use the bathroom during those hours the screen is on for some apparent reason when it's suppose to be off. I have the brightness settings set to very low darkness at night whenever I use it. Also, I have auto screen turnoff after 5 min (which doesn't work at that time).

Google Nest pushes out automatic updates of its Nest Hubs in the early morning hours. Once or twice I've noticed the one in the bedroom light up for this around 3 am, but after the update it goes dark again.

Mine goes off after the update, but I haven't noticed it for a very long time.

Gotcha. I wonder how long the update lasts so the screen can supposedly turn off.

It could be Ultrasound Sensing in the device's settings > Recognition and Sharing

Do you see any error codes or messages?
When did the issue first occur?
Has the device been dropped or knocked over?
Have you tried connecting the Google Nest Hub to a different power source?

It's been going on for a while now since I changed my display settings.

Thank you for your reply.Don't worry; let's try with other options, please. Follow the next steps.

Step 1: Check if there is something in your home environment that could accidentally activate {Google Home / Google Nest device} by voice or touch.

Possible causes include:

Google Home heard a noise that sounded like "Hey Google" / "OK Google."
Google Home was manually activated when something (a curtain, wires/cables, or a dog’s wagging tail) came in contact with the touch surface.

So, possible ways you can minimize false triggers would include moving Google Home farther away from the TV or away from items that could brush up against the device.

Step 2: You can check My Activity to verify what Google Home last heard.

Your activity is listed as individual items, starting with the most recent command heard by Google Home. By scanning down the list, you can identify the trigger—a TV commercial, or your pet bird that has now learned how to say “Hey, Google.”

For how to check My Activity, see the Help Center article Manage Google Voice & Audio Activity.

Step 3: If your Google Home falsely triggers on a regular basis (multiple times a day, for example), try a factory reset.

This will clear all personal data from Google Home, including setup or cached data that could be causing the problem. For how to do a factory reset, see the Help Center article Factory Reset Google Home / Google Nest.

Thanks Jeremy! Tried the first 2 steps. Have My Activity turned off. Won't try step 3 because factory resetting has never worked out for me in the past. I'm guessing my problem is a light/sound sensitivity issue or maybe an auto updating setting I could turn off.

Hello there! An update. My screen hasn’t turned on as of lately in the night that I have noticed. So I think my problem may have solved itself. I’ll continue to monitor either way.
