Hi, I’ve had the same issue as other users.

It probably started about six months ago, with one side of the screen having lines. Now, nearly the entire screen has lines across it. It’s never been dropped, and we’ve never moved it from its spot on the countertop. After scrolling through these threads, it seems like this is a common issue. This device is less than two years old and gets little use (I only use it occasionally to check the weather).

I’m hoping someone from Google can offer some reassurance that this issue is being addressed so that future Google devices will have better reliability and longevity. I don’t want to keep replacing it every 1.5 years.

What is the life expectancy of this display hub.

Hi shaq,

Thank you for reaching out to the community! I understand your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) started displaying lines across the screen six months ago. I know how frustrating it can be when your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) is not working as expected, especially when it hasn't been moved from its countertop location. Let's work together to find a solution! To gather more details, I'd like to ask the following questions:

What are the troubleshooting steps you've already tried?

Is the display still working?

Is the display's Assistant working?

What's the firmware version of your display?

Could you provide me a photo that clearly shows the display issue?

Let me know if you have any additional information; it’ll be helpful.

Best regards,
Juan
